Chairmans message 2012Firstly I would like to thank all of you who come to the 2011 town fair. The weather was against us a bit but you turned out just the same. We still had a very successful fair despite the weather with all our usual events plus a few new ones like the line dancing competition. Congratulations to Diamond Creek Primary School for winning followed very closely by Sacred Heart Primary School. Thank you for the time you all put in to learning the routine. Thank you to Caro and her team who put this activity together.
Hopefully this will become an annual event.
The Grand Parade starts off our town fair at 10.00am. 2011 saw one of biggest parades ever with many schools, pre-schools, child care, community groups, sporting and dancing groups entering floats designed around the theme. The theme for 2011 was “Diamond Creek a little bit Country” and I might say the floats were outstanding.
These floats are judged and prizes are awarded. The results of our last fair were:-
If your organization would like to enter the Parade for 2012 please contact Alan White. (Please look up Grand Parade on this web site for more information)
The committee is working very hard already on our next fair. So please put the date in your diary (8th September 2012) and join us for a day of fun and enjoyment with hopefully a very fine, sunny day.
The theme for the 2012 fair is “Life in the Green Wedge”
We would like to introduce competitions into our fair such as:
We could perhaps have a gourmet food area with small businesses promoting their produce and providing tastings.
These are some of the areas that the committee will be looking into when we resume committee meetings in the new-year. I would also like to say to our sponsors, thank you very much for your help, without sponsorship the committee would not be able to run all the free activities that are at our fair.
These activities provide a wide range of thing for children to do on the day which certainly helps with parents budgets. Our main sponsors are the Nillumbik Council and The Bendigo Bank, we also have many local businesses that are also very generous when it comes to supporting this event. Thank you to you all.
If you would like to give us your feedback on activities that you would like to see at the fair you can always email us This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
Keep checking in to this web site and face-book as we will keep updating them as we make decisions. See you at the fair |
