All stall holders who want to sell food will require a Temporary Food Permit from the Nillumbik Shire Council.
No fees will be charged for Not for Profit groups and Mobile Food Vehicles registered with Nillumbik Shire
Council although they still are required to apply for a permit.
All other food stall holders will be charged $40 for the 1 day. Any food businesses registered with another
council will need to provide their Food Act registration certificate.
I have enclosed a copy of the forms and guidelines for all food stall holders including wine tasting stalls. I ask that these forms are filled out by the food stall holders and returned to you with any fees received. Once all have been collected please forward on to the Health Services Unit for processing at least 7 days prior to the festival with a complete list of all food stalls for the festival.
Organisations selling food as a one off activity should obtain the “Events Template” which provides guidelines for obtaining a Temporary Food Premises Permit and operating at the town fair can be found at
www.nillumbik.vic.gov.au.
Note: All food sellers, unless already registered with the Council, must forward a copy of permit application to the above address, together with a cheque, where required, made out to the Nillumbik Shire Council. This will be sent to the Council for issuing of the permit.
While there are variations and exemptions from paying fees, a permit is none the less required. Entry will not be permitted into town fair operating areas unless this permit has been obtained, and is available for display.

The Diamond Creek Rotary Town Fair Committee collects all food handling documentation on behalf of the Nillumbik Shire Council. These are then forwarded to the Council for processing.
Applications to participate in the fair will not be processed unless a copy of an existing permit or an application for a temporary permit and a cheque (if required) is provided.
